DRAUGHT PROOFING
Draught proofing is a cheap and simple cost
effective means of making your home feel warmer.
Wherever you can feel cold air getting into your home
you can be sure warm air is escaping.
Draught proofing comes in a variety of forms,
mainly brushes, rubber seals and plastic/metal frames.
Gaps around doors, including the letterbox
and the keyholes, are the most common source
of draughts so these are therefore the most
important areas to draught proof.
Badly fitted windows, skirting boards and
loft hatches
will also benefit from draught stripping.
It is important not to apply draught proofing to bathroom
or kitchen doors or windows. These rooms produce high
amounts of condensation, which if not ventilated correctly
will cause mould and similar problems.
Draught Proofing can cut fuel bills between 10% and 15%
and is the cheapest way of reducing your fuel costs. click
